OOTN: Works Christmas Party Featuring Chi Chi..♥

Hey sweeties♥

So sorry I haven't been in the blogging world as much over the last couple of months, I seem to have been dipping in and out as and when I can. I am sure you are all so excited and ready for Christmas Day tomorrow, I literally cannot wait now as I still get so excited even at the age of 23.

On Thursday night I had the works Christmas party which was at East Midlands Conference Centre and I went along with Lisa my girly from home as we now both work at the same place *yay*. We thought we would go as it was a free night out for us, 3 course meal and all that jazz and of course an excuse to get dressed up all pretty in dresses too.

Lifestyle: Christmas Tag..♥

Hey sweeties♥

Seeing as Christmas is literally just around the corner now I thought I would get even more festive and in the Christmas spirit by doing one of the Christmas tags that I have seen on various blogs. I love reading these kind of tags as it gets me in the mood for Christmas a little more and seeing what Christmas means to others too. If you do this tag let me know in the comments as I will pop on over and have a read, hope you enjoy mine.

Lifestyle: Yankee Candle Merry Marshmallow & Strawberry Buttercream..♥

Hey sweeties ♥

As I am sure you all know by now I am a Yankee Candle addict, honestly I don’t know how my collection has grown so big, I just can’t seem to stop myself from buying all of the new scents when they are released. I went through a phase of buying the wax tarts like they were going out of fashion, then I went onto the tea lights and now the inner shopaholic in me keeps buying the large jars. Now we all know that Yankee Candles aren't just a couple of quid, the large jars are around the £20 mark depending where you buy them from but I have found a lovely online store that goes by the name of the ScentedCandleShop who sell them for £17.99 and always have offers on too, who doesn't love a good offer right?

Lifestyle: Looking Back at 2013, My Memories..♥

Hey sweeties

As we are approaching the end of 2013, which for me has come around way too fast I swear it was only March a couple of weeks ago. I thought I would share with you my personal highlights of the year. Although for me 2013 wasn't the best year in some ways, but in others it has been the best year to date, so many memories made.

It is safe to say that I have been to my fair share of concerts for 2013 probably the most that I have been to within a year. There has been One Direction three times (MEN Arena, Capital FM Arena and Sheffield Arena), The Script, Michael Buble and Bruno Mars. I should have been seeing Tinie Tempah this year but he has rescheduled the date for 2014 so another to add to my list. Out of those concerts I honestly cannot choose which was my favourite, I am slightly edging to Bruno Mars because the show just blew me away.

Lifestyle: Weekend in nottingham & Bruno Mars Concert..♥

Hey sweeties ♥

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend and getting into the Christmas spirit? I officially feel in the mood now especially after the weekend, as I had a little wander around the local Christmas market and did a spot of wrapping too, go me!

But this weekend was one of the weekends I have been looking forward to for around 6 months now, yes really that long! As it was the weekend Charlotte was visiting Nottingham and we were off to see Bruno Mars *screams*!! So I met Charlotte just after lunch and we had time to check into the hotel and then we went on the hunt for food, we managed to have a little walk through the Christmas market but didn't have a proper look as the girlies are coming down in December for the Christmas market (excited much!!). We ended up in Frankie and Bennys, I swear that place should be my second home.

Fashion & Lifestyle: OOTN Quiz Playsuit & Girly Night In Manchester..♥

Hey sweeties♥

Hope you are all having a lovely start to the week? I have another 4 day week this week as I am off on a spa break Friday-Saturday with Lisa my best friend from home so I really cannot wait for that, something that I am in need of now.

On Friday I headed up to Manchester to have a girly weekend with Charlotte, Gina and Rachael. I honestly don't know what I would do without these 3 girlies at the moment, they keep me on the right track and are always there for me no matter what. I met up with Gina and of course we ended up doing a spot of shopping first off, be rude not too though wouldn't it? I shall pop a mini haul post up of what I got later in the week. We then went to Charlotte's where Rachael was already and we got ready with a few bottles of wine, lots of giggles and singing before heading off into Manchester to let our hair down for a much needed night out.

Hey sweeties ♥

Would you look at that another week has come and gone quicker than I don't know what. I'm off work tomorrow as I am heading up to Manchester to have a weekend with the girlies, so expect a post on the happenings from that at some point next week.

Whenever I go away somewhere over night I always end up packing way too much stuff than I need but us girlies never know what we will need and it's always best to be prepared. Without a doubt I always take a can of my trusty Batiste Dry Shampoo, it is beyond a life saver really. This time I have packed the new Batiste Dry Shampoo which has recently been launched and that is floral.

Lifestyle: Mr and Mrs Chadderton Wedding Reception..♥

Hey sweeties♥

Friday 11th October was one of the best nights of my life and I have got to say a massive thank you to the newlyweds Charlotte and Darren for inviting me to their wedding reception up in Manchester. Sadly, I couldn’t make the wedding in Cyprus due to my stupid fear of flying so to be part of their celebrations in some way felt really special.
The day started off nice and early when I met Gina in Manchester and Charlotte and Darren took us to our hotel which was super lovely of them. We had food, fake tanned Gina and had a bottle of wine while getting ready and then the unexpected happened when Gina suddenly got locked in the bathroom. To cut a long story short we ended up having 3 members of staff from the hotel try to get her out, nothing, but eventually 4 firemen later came to our rescue. We were then moved rooms, given a full refund and free breakfast the next morning, luckily this all happened just in time for us to pop our dresses on and Rachael and Bob arrived with another bottle of wine, to calm the nerves down of course.

Lifestyle: Life Lately #2..♥

Hey sweeties

The other day I randomly had a look back over my blog and the posts that I have written over the summer and I was quite impressed with that I had managed to get up to say that summer for me has been so manic I am surprised I actually found the time to blog. I introduced Life Lately post in June and said I would keep you all updated every month, well that soon went out of the window, but now I have the time to sit down and catch up properly I thought I would update you all on the goings on once again.

So where to start, back in July I headed off to Ibiza for 11 nights which was simply amazing, the hotel was beautiful and the first time I had been all inclusive (I have been missing out I swear), it was just what I needed at the time to relax after such a manic year at work.

Hey sweeties♥

Wow I cannot believe I haven't blogged for a good week and half, it seems like the time is flying by so fast and like Christmas will be knocking on the door quicker than we expect. But I have my reasons for not being around and that is mainly due to work, going out and the weekend just gone I was in Manchester with Georgina and then Leeds for Charlotte's Hen Party which was beyond amazing.

Seeing as though the weekend was simply one of the best that I have had since I can remember I thought I would pop up a post and share with you some of the photos too. The weekend started on Friday when I headed up to Manchester to stay with Georgina at her uni flat, we did a little shopping to start with then we went back to hers to get ready and then went to the cinema to see One Direction This Is Us which by the way was simply amazing and very emotional too. After the cinema we ended up going to a cocktail bar where all of the cockails were like £2 we ended up staying out quite late to say we were only going for a few and felt a little sore on Saturday morning.

Lifestyle: Birthday Cakes With Baker Days..♥

Hey sweeties

On the 4th August I celebrated my 23rd birthday, ah I am slowly starting to feel older now (not saying anyone older than me is old) but yeah you know how it feels, another year has flown by in a flash. I had such a lovely birthday, well a birthday weekend as we never just celebrate on the actual date anymore do we? I was truly spoilt and I was so grateful to all friends and family for their gifts and surprises, I literally have some amazing people in my life at the moment.

Of course, no birthday is complete without a cake right? But I had 3 this year, I know greedy Rachel or what? One my parents brought which was a cute Me to You Bear, then a fresh cream and strawberry vanilla sponge that my uncle backed and the third I was pleasantly surprised on the Friday before my birthday to have received a cake from the lovely people from Baker Days*.

Lifestyle & Fashion: Meadowhall Haul & Girly Day..♥

Hey beauties♥

A week last Friday I headed off to Meadowhall to meet my girly Charlotte for a nice day of shopping, food and plenty of giggles. We were meant to be joined by Georgina too but sadly she had to work, damn you keeping her from us. But we had lots of fun and whenever we saw anything with hearts on we thought of Georgina, aren't we the cutest friends? I had been waiting so long for this shopping trip as I had managed to save up some money to take and actually treat myself good a proper this time instead of buying for the holiday, but that was a perfect excuse.

So we hit the shops hard and I think I spend around £110 which wasn't too bad as I had taken around £180 out with me and I literally had bagfuls, Charlotte even had to help me carry my bags around Meaowhall - tip for them to let people use those pull along trollys that they have in Primark it would make it all much easier. But anyway, I thought I would share with you what I got on the day and some snaps of Charlotte and I and of course the food we stuffed ourselves with too.

Honey, I'm home!

I'm home from Ibiza, wow what an amazing holiday that was just what I needed too 11 days of pure relaxation around the pool, drinks flowing and stuffing my face with food until it came out of my ears and not to mention the beautiful weather. So I got back home on Wednesday afternoon and since then it has been all go go go with unpacking, washing, picking Alfie up, food shopping, cleaning, going back to work and all that jazz but I've finally sat down to check emails and get back to blogging too.

This is just a short sweet post to say that I am back home and the posts will be coming back this weekend, I have a lot of OOTN posts to share with you as my most said phrase on holiday to Liam was 'you can take a photo of me if you want' typical blogger I guess?

Fashion: Roxy Sunglasses..♥

Hey sweeties♥

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend? Mine has been simply amazing I went to see Michael Buble on Friday night and my goodness I was literally left speechless and if you know me by now you'll know it takes a bit to shut me up. I didn't know all of his songs but his voice was so powerful, not only that but he is such a down to earth kind of guy and he is pretty damn funny too, not to mention gorgeous as hell. Sadly, we weren't able to take any photos or videos as it was classed as rehearsal but we were SO close to his second stage I couldn't believe it. Then Saturday I had a day in my pjs, I haven't had one of those days for ages so thought sod it and caught up with Chasing The Saturdays, don't you just love Mollie? Sunday was spent at the parents having a Sunday roast dinner, a spot of shopping and then catching up on blogging and I'll be settling down on the sofa again soon to watch a Michael Buble program at 9pm on ITV.

Now we've had a catch up of what I've been doing at the weekend, I wanted to share a post with you all on my Roxy sunglasses. I popped a photo up of them a while ago on Instagram and then I featured them in an OOTN post on the blog and I have had so many compliments on them.

Hey sweeties♥

I hope you are all having a lovely week? It seems to be going quite quick once again but hey I won’t complain as that means it is closer to the weekend and closer to my holiday too – yipppeee! I feel as though I haven’t done a lifestyle catch up post in such a long time, it has mainly been beauty and fashion on the blog lately which is good as I wanted to add more of those elements to the blog but it is always nice to have a sit down and catch up on life itself right?
So I thought I would introduce a new post feature called ‘Life Lately’ where I will update you probably every month or so on what has been happening in the life of Rachel. First off I just want to say sorry if I don’t post much lately, things at work have been a little manic as it is the last week of our college term so a nice summer break is coming up to get ready for the next academic year. Also with work I got to go to Liverpool, which really was so beautiful we went to The Beatles museum, on the Liverpool eye and then on an open topped bust – luckily we had such lovely weather.

Lifestyle: Girly Day In Manchester & Paige Toon Book Signing..♥

Hey sweeties♥

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend? Despite the weather turning chilly and it resembling October out there rather than the end of June, I have had such a lovely weekend. So today I thought I would share with you all my little outing that I took on Saturday up to Manchester.
If you’ve been reading Life of a Sweetaholic for some time now you will know that Paige Toon is my favourite author and I am always going on about how amazing her books are (they really are), so when I got Charlotte into her books too we were over the moon that she announced a book signing in Manchester. So I hopped on the train early Saturday morning to meet Charlotte to go to the book signing at Waterstones in Manchester, we got there fairly early and ended up chatting away and the time just flew by and then we were there with Paige herself. Honestly, she is such a down to earth author and an all round wonderful woman, we must have been talking to her for a good 10 minutes or more about our favourite book (Johnny Be Good) and all of the exciting plans Paige has in store over the next year or so. We even managed to get some photos with her too which was really lovely.

Hope you are all having a lovely week? The weather has been a little mixed in the Midlands this week, sun, rain, hot, cold goodness me I wish it would sort itself out. I actually cannot believe it is Thursday, so close to the weekend, this weekend I am off to Manchester to have a girly day with Charlotte and shop until we drop and meeting Georgina to give her birthday gifts too.

Today I want to share with you all a recent love of mine, that being the Denman Porcupine Paddle Brush*. Hey sweeties♥

If you've been a regular reader of Life of a Sweetaholic since the beginning you'll know that I used to have a feature every week called 'Smile of the week' to begin with this was a photo/quote that made me smile that I liked to share, but then I changed it to ten things that had made me happy during the previous week. For some reason I stopped the feature, but lately I have been a weheartit addict once again so I thought instead of just keeping things that smile to myself I'd share a little bit of joy and bring back the feature. I might actually do a mixture of what has made me smile during the week and a photo/quote too - I know I am such a dare devil mixing the two!

So let's get back into the swing of things, my favourite quote from the past week has been:

Hey sweeties♥

I cannot believe that I haven't blogged for well over a week, the time has just flown by and the reason it has is because on Saturday it was the #SheffieldMeetUp that I had organised with Caroline and Charlotte and the week before was all systems go. But since Monday night I haven't been too well either, I have caught a viral infection and it really has knocked me off of my feet. I have so many posts I want to share with you and I will get around to it slowly. But today I am here to share with you all about the #SheffieldMeetUp day, this might be quite a long post and with a fair amount of photos too. Most of the photos in this post are from fellow bloggers and from Georgina who kindly took professional photos during the day, all credit is given to those bloggers under the photos, any without credit are my own. Photo heavy post.

First off I want to say a few thank you messages: a massive thank you to Caroline and Charlotte for all of their help in making the meet up possible, they were such wonderful hosts to be alongside. I also want to thank Georgina, Fran and Claire for helping set up at our base with the goody bags and the beautiful personalised tags that Charlotte made especailly for the meet. Most importantly thank you to Handmade Burger Co for having us for lunch, thank you to the amazingly helpful and generous Lush team at Meadowhall and not forgetting all of the generous companies and PR's that made it possible to provide each blogger with a goody bag filled with the most wonderful products (full post and individual thank you's to follow).

Hey sweeties♥

Would you look at that, it is Friday already - madness, but I am so glad as I have had such a busy week at work I am in need of a nice relaxing weekend of nothingness.

I have so many posts that I want to share with you all but most of them are beauty related and I feel like I have gone a little overboard with beauty so today I thought I would split it up and give you something to make you go 'awww', yes that's right it's an Alfie update. I can't believe I haven't done one of these since February, say what!!!

Well Alfie is now 9 months old, yes really 9 months old! I cannot quite believe that we have had our bundle of fluffy joy for a whole 7 months, the time really has flown by since having him, but wouldn't change it for the world. Alfie has obviously grown quite a lot since February, although I don't notice it until I look back at photos of him and think where has my cutie gone?

Girly Weekend In Manchester..♥

Hello Sweeties♥

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend and a good start to the week? I had a mix of a relaxing weekend and busy, relaxing as in pampering and going shopping for some new beauty goodies (post to come on that) and busy as in cleaning the house, boohiss! I am now counting the days down for the 4 day weekend I have ahead and then a three day weekend the week after - don't you just love bank holidays!!

Now last weekend I headed off to Manchester for the weekend to see my lovelies Charlotte and Georgina, but not just for a 7 hour shopping trip like we usually do but actually 2 days and a night, it was the best weekend ever! I headed up to Manchester on Friday early morning and we grabbed a bite to eat then it was onto the main task of the day, helping Charlotte find her perfect wedding shoes, I think we got close to but nothing perfect (damn you shops).

We then headed to the hotel and had a cocktail while we waited for our room to be ready for us, then we made the room a total bomb site, honestly three girls and three suitcases in one room was just a disaster waiting to happen. We'd booked a table at Red Hot Buffet World across the road for 6pm so we were on a mission to get ourselves ready in time, with a little sing and dance along to One Direction, cocktail in hand of course. The meal itself was beyond amazing, I love Red Hot Buffet World so much, shockingly I didn't stuff my face with puddings as I had pigged out big time on the mains, but Charlotte made up for that. We were then planning on going to have a cocktail or two at a bar, but we were so full we ended up going back to the hotel to relax, well I say relax, we ended up recording our first ever YouTube video - ARGHHH! It was so funny to make and I can't wait for you to all see it, I think we've ended up with 20 minutes worth of bloopers and only 5 minutes of video, our stomaches hurt so much with laughing. We then got into our pjs, more cocktails and sweeties and chatted, giggled and danced will into the early hours of the morning.

Charlotte, Me & Georgina
Georgina made me giggle SO much in the morning, as her first words were "We are going to see One Direction today", of course we both screamed. We had pre booked breakfast and again more giggles came as the guy at the hotel was just so rude and stupid so we had a giggle at that, Charlotte then walked with us to the MEN arena as Georgina and I were off to see One Direction that afternoon.

Now One Direction was beyond amazing, awesome, crazy, fun, exciting and just pure ahhhhhh, seeing as though we were SIX rows from the front of the stage - yes Louis was as handsome in the flesh and I wanted to kiss him, yes Harry has gorgeous hair, yes Zayn melted my heart with his voice and his tattoos make him SO hot, yes Liam is waved at us and yes Niall the cute Irish babe that he always is, made me die a little inside. I will show you more photos from the afternoon in a different post, but just as a little taster I shall leave you with this one...

Meadowhall Trip & Haul..♥

Hey sweeties

First of all sorry for the lack of posts, I have had so many that I wanted to share with you but Blogger wouldn't let me upload any photos for a good few days, but fear not I have won the battle and I am back!

So on Friday I went to Meadowhall with the lovely Charlotte and Georgina to once again spend a fortune but between us we didn't too bad money wise and we got so much, especially in Primark. We met up around half 11 and headed straight for the shops, we seems to have a routine of where we want to go depending on which level we are on, we ended up shopping for a couple of hours before going for lunch. We ended up going to TGI Friday's instead of Frankie & Bennys - I know how dare we but it was a Friday so it just seemed right, I think it was the first time I had been to TGI's and my god I am totally in love, it was so nice. It was here where we ended up chatting for a good hour none stop and giggling our heads off with taking photos too, I honestly have the best time ever with these girlies and I am SO glad that they are part of my life. After lunch we headed to the one and only Primark, where we spent most of the afternoon, we got SO much we had two pull along trollies full between the three of us - now that is some serious shopping there. We all headed home around 7ish after such a brilliant day filled with shopping, food and giggles - perfect!

But now onto the haul, I didn't go over board with what I brought actually I stuck to a list that I had in my head of what I wanted to get with the odd bits thrown in here and there. I spend the most of my money in Primark but I got a damn good bag full which I was super happy about. So I will start with the Primark load first off..

I also picked a pair of Dark Blue Jeans up from New Look but I haven't taken a photo of those as they are the ones that I always wear they were priced at £9.99 but they had 25% off all jeans so I got them for a bargain price of £7.50! I didn't pick that many beauty items up this time, as I always seem to buy things and then never use them but I did get Barry M Greenberry Gelly and Pink Sapphire glitter and a glitter from Primark called Emerald Isle for £2. After seeing so many blog posts on the new MUA Pro-Base Conceal & Brighten Kit I knew I had to pick one up for myself, so I got one from Superdrug in shade Natural - Medium Rose, I will pop a review up when I get around to using it.

Then I picked up the odd bits like shampoo and other boring bits that aren't really worth a show on the blog, oh I did pick a little nail stamping kit up from Poundland to try, it looks quite good so I will show you that in another post too.
